The ABC House
The ABC House is a Residential Home provided for highly motivated, bright young men who come from relatively deprived communites where educational opportunities are greatly limited. The resident students attend Glastonbury High School for their four high school years with the goal of securing admission to college and achieving a measure of personal success. The program, one of a network of such facilities, has had remarkable success during its over 35 year history in Glastonbury, graduating over 90 scholars to date. The house is located on New London Turnpike and houses up to 8 students. An $80,000 annual budget provides property upkeep, board, and supervision. Visit the A Better Chance for more information.
The Exchange Club of Glastonbury
For over 75 years Glastonbury has benefited from the community service activity and fund raising of its local Exchange Club. Funds from club undertakings provide important financial assistance supporting many programs in the community such as the ABC House, Scholarships, Boy Scouts, Little League, YMCA, Audubon, and many more. The club also actively supports our local policy and fire departments. Collectively, this community service activitiy contributes to the high quality of life enjoyed locally. Members enjoy regular dinner meetings and quality involvement in the community.
